Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last updated 1 August 2026. These terms govern your use of Saanjh, including companion calls, wellness summaries and the prepaid wallet. Please read section 14 and 15 carefully — they set out the assumptions you accept and the limits of our responsibility.
1. What Saanjh is
Saanjh is a companionship service. With your instruction, we place a recurring voice call to a parent or elder you nominate, hold a natural conversation using an AI voice, and send you a short wellness summary by WhatsApp and email.
Saanjh is not a medical, diagnostic, emergency, nursing, security or caregiving service. It does not monitor a person continuously and must never be relied on as a safety net.
2. Who may use Saanjh
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract. By adding a parent, elder or family member you confirm that you have their knowledge and consent for Saanjh to call them, converse with them, record and process the call, and share a summary with you and any contacts you nominate.
You are responsible for the accuracy of every phone number, email address and WhatsApp number you enter, and for removing anyone who no longer wishes to be called.
3. AI-generated conversation and summaries
Calls are conducted by an AI voice, not a human. Transcripts, mood readings, wellness scores, follow-up suggestions and alerts are produced automatically by large language models and speech systems.
AI output can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. It may misinterpret tone, mishear words, miss a serious problem or flag something that is not real. Treat every summary as a conversational impression, never as fact, advice or a clinical finding. Always verify anything important directly with your family member or a qualified professional.
4. No emergency or medical service
Saanjh cannot summon an ambulance, police or fire service, and does not guarantee that distress will be detected. Escalation and call-transfer features are best-effort conveniences only and depend on telecom networks and third-party systems outside our control.
In an emergency, contact local emergency services directly. Nothing in a Saanjh summary should delay seeking medical care.
5. Call and message delivery
Calls, WhatsApp messages and emails travel over networks operated by third parties. Calls may be missed, dropped, delayed, blocked by a carrier, silenced by do-not-disturb settings, or fail because a phone is switched off or unreachable.
We do not guarantee that any specific call, summary or alert will be delivered, or delivered on time. We may retry, reschedule or skip a call at our discretion.
6. Where your data lives
Account data, parent profiles, call records, transcripts, summaries, wellness metrics, memory notes, waitlist entries and billing records are stored in our managed cloud backend, which runs on a Postgres database with authentication and storage, hosted in a single fixed region selected when the project was created.
Access is restricted by per-row database policies so that a signed-in account can reach only its own records. Credentials and API keys are held server-side and are never exposed to the browser. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
No system is perfectly secure. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures but cannot warrant that data will never be accessed, altered or lost.
7. Service providers we rely on
To deliver the service we pass the minimum necessary data to third parties, which currently include telephony carriers for placing calls and sending WhatsApp messages, speech-to-text and text-to-speech providers, large language model providers for conversation and analysis, an email delivery provider, our cloud hosting and database provider, and a payment gateway.
These providers process data under their own terms. We may add, replace or remove providers as the service evolves.
8. Use of data for AI training
We do not sell your data and we do not use call content for advertising. Content may be processed by AI providers to generate responses and analysis. Platform-level data collection for model improvement can apply at the hosting layer; where an opt-out is offered by our platform or providers we may exercise it, and raw personal information is not used to train models in identifiable form.
We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics — such as average call length or error rates — to improve quality.
9. Recording, retention and deletion
Calls are processed and may be recorded or transcribed so that summaries can be produced and quality maintained. You confirm you have the consents required in your and your family member's jurisdiction for this.
We retain records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal, accounting and dispute purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated records by writing to us; some records may be retained where law requires.
10. Wallet, billing and refunds
Calls are metered by the second and charged against a prepaid wallet balance at the published per-minute rate. Calls will not start if your balance is insufficient. Top-ups and packs are processed by our payment gateway; we do not store card details.
Prices, packs and rates may change with notice on the billing page. Wallet balances are for use of the service only, carry no interest, are non-transferable, and are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we fail to deliver a charged call.
11. Early access and availability
Saanjh is offered in limited early access. Features may change, break or be withdrawn without notice, and waitlist entry does not guarantee an invitation. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis with no guarantee of uptime.
12. Acceptable use
You may not use Saanjh to call anyone who has not consented, to harass, deceive or impersonate, to place automated marketing or fundraising calls, to breach telecom or privacy law, to reverse engineer or overload the service, or to resell it without our written agreement. We may suspend or terminate any account that does.
13. Intellectual property
Saanjh, its software, prompts, designs, voices and brand remain our property. You keep ownership of the content you enter, and grant us a licence to process it solely to operate and improve the service.
14. General assumptions you accept
By using Saanjh you accept that:
- the person being called has consented to receiving AI calls and to their summary being shared with you;
- all details you provide are accurate, lawful and kept up to date;
- AI conversation, transcription and analysis are imperfect and may contain errors or omissions;
- telecom, messaging, email and payment networks may fail, delay or block delivery;
- Saanjh supplements human contact and never replaces family, carers or medical professionals;
- a missing, late or reassuring summary is not evidence that a person is well;
- third-party providers may change, and features may be modified or discontinued;
- you remain solely responsible for decisions taken in response to anything Saanjh reports.
15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for loss of profit, data, goodwill, or for any harm, injury, illness, deterioration, death, financial loss or distress arising from a missed call, an undelivered or inaccurate summary, an undetected condition, a false alert, or reliance on AI output.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and costs arising from your use of Saanjh, including any claim that a person was called or recorded without proper consent, or that information you supplied was inaccurate or unlawful.
17. Changes, termination and law
We may update these terms; continued use after an update means acceptance. Either of us may end the relationship at any time, and we may suspend access for non-payment, misuse or legal reasons.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you hold locally.
